What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a guided sound meditation where all you have to do is lie down, listen, and let go.
And you don’t need any prior experience.
Why are sound waves so soothing and effective?
The body consists of approximately 70% water.
Vibrations and frequencies set the body’s fluids – such as blood and lymph – in motion.
This helps the body return more easily to its natural flow.
In addition, the vibrations gently overlay the brain’s beta or gamma frequencies and gradually bring brain activity into the slow and relaxed theta state – the condition just before falling asleep.
The result is a mode of genuine, deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and inner balance for both body and mind – a state that many people have almost forgotten.
How does sound affect us when we’re stressed?
Chronic stress puts a strain on the nervous system, weakens the immune system, and increases the risk of illness.
At the heart of this are the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system activates the body (“fight or flight”), while the parasympathetic nervous system promotes relaxation and recovery. Chronic stress disrupts this balance.
It’s that simple: The vibrations of the singing bowls calm the sympathetic nervous system and activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
